Top tips for booking a party band:
Choose a band that:
Is professionally managed. This ensures getting
great service from your initial enquiry, through all the planning
and organisation to the successful completion of the gig!
Uses professional musicians and singers. There
are many lower quality semi - pro bands out there - professionals
guarantee reliability, quality and will dress and behave appropriately
for your event.
Carries its own top of the range PA and lights. Make
sure the band has Public Liability Insurance and a PAT certificate
for its electronic equipment for health and safety standards
Offers good communication through the booking process.
The band should find out what you want and offer advice and support!
Is versatile and experienced enough to meet your needs.
At an event there is often a cross section of ages and the band
should be flexible enough to 'read' and entertain the entire audience.
Has been successful for a number of years and is well established.
A successful band relies on word of mouth recommendations, so
it has to be reliable to survive and should be able to give you
references from previous happy clients.
Can give you a high quality sample CD. Beware
of over produced sounding demos - it is far better to hear a more
live sounding recording, and then you know what you will be getting
on the night!
Is experienced working in hotels and similar venues.
Setting up the equipment often needs to be done fairly quickly,
so you need a band that can work with venues to do this.
